128 - Field Schools, Spatial Ecology, and Gag with new co-host Hannah Gottesman
This week new co-host, Kadie Heinle, chats with another new co-host, Hannah Gottesman. Hannah is a PhD student at the University of Florida where she is studying the spatial ecology of gag, a highly valued commercial and recreational grouper fishery in the Gulf of Mexico. Kadie and Hannah chat about the importance of field schools, how Hannah became interested in spatial ecology, and what drew Hannah to becoming a new host of the Fisheries Podcast.
Main point: You don’t have to grow up fishing to become a fisheries biologist!
