In this episode, Kadie interviews Carmen Ritter. Carmen is a biological technician for the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center where she works on a variety of coastal marine ecosystem projects. Kadie and Carmen chat about how a semester long sailing trip led Carmen to change her career trajectory from computer science to ocean conservation, her current work sampling coastal marine ecosystems in Alaska and the Chesapeake Bay, as well as the importance of science communication.

Main Point: Love other people well, and you'll have better conversations!
